Wow. A 42-17 victory over Dallas last night. Ladies, and gentlemen, football was not shown on NBC last night, but instead a special airing of Brokeback Mountain. Them Cowboys got fucked. Anyways, tomorrow I buy my playoff tickets and my season tickets for next year.

Child’s Play Charity
Tulane Hospital for Children in New Orleans has been added to the charity list! So, instead of buying me something, instead buy a game, movie, cd, etc. for a sick kid stuck in the hospital. Last year, I bought a Playstation 2 for the Texas Children’s Hospital, this year it’s the Lord of the Rings… Continue reading Child’s Play Charity
Spam Comment Cache-busting.
So, one of the issues I’ve seen with comment spam is the bots’ use of cached versions of blog/etc pages. While my new spam reduction method was pretty effective, it did nothing whatsoever to stop spamming via cached-pages. Since the older cached pages didn’t have the baited field, it didn’t submit a value for said… Continue reading Spam Comment Cache-busting.
Sometimes metal makes me angry.
I know, I know. Things have been sparse all up ins here. Things have been busy. Way Mega Busy™: 50% work, 50% alcohol, %20 football, -%25 sleep. My body is run down, I need rest. Anyways, I picked up albums by two of my favorite old-time heavies, Iron Maiden and Tom Waits. In 2000, we… Continue reading Sometimes metal makes me angry.

The first is in the comments.php page (if your custom theme doesn’t have this file, use the one from the default theme). Around… Continue reading Hiding Spam Comments
Zombies and Football.
No, this isn’t a comment on America(ns) as a disconnected (or overly connected) society or anything equally over-written or potentially self-aggrandizing. There is an actual link (as much as one can make, I reckon). Yesterday, there was a certain point late in the third quarter of the Saints/Steelers game that I totally lost interest. No,… Continue reading Zombies and Football.
Biiiissssscooooooooo!!!!!!
So, it’s official, and I think I might have called it. Basso is now a member of the Discovery Channel Cycling Team. It’s so fitting that one of Lance’s biggest threats is now taking the helm of his team. Basso is a stand-up guy, and I’m glad he’s captaining “our” team. ¡Viva Basso! ¡Viva Disco!

That’s brutal.
In addition to the aforementioned Dexter, I have a new tv show. It’s a cartoon called Metalocalypse on cartoon network’s [adult swim]. It’s brutal. According to co-creator Brendon Small, “The show is basically about a (half-American/half Norwegian) metal band (Dethklok) that is about a million times bigger than the Beatles. But a million times more… Continue reading That’s brutal.
