25¢ to who can tell me what movie the above quote is from, without looking it up on the intertron. And it’s not even in imdb (click to learn what movie it is), so don’t even try. These are the things that are stuck in my brain instead of, say, the word for the thing with rungs that you climb to get up higher in the air.
Anyways, it has been brought to my attention that CBS will be re-mastering and digitally re-working the original Star Trek series. I’m optimistic. It appears that those involved recognize the potential for disaster that was made clear by Mr. Lucas and his re-working of the Holy Trinity.
While perusing this news on the Sci Fi Wire, other things have been brought to my attention. A new show has been born and it’s pilot (has been or will soon be) shot: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. This has a very huge cool potential. X-Filesian, even in its potential ability to explore the “Terminator Mythos”, the characters’ stories, and to help patch up a bit of what we know happened inbetween the time that Cyberdine’s AI went live to when Kyle went back in time. Plenty of room to explore and muck about. Doesn’t have to be all Terminators, all the time, either. Note to self: watch T3. Try not to throw up from what I understand to be an overwhelming shittiness.
I’ve gotten hooked on Eureka.
Also, I haven’t said anything about the announcement that Stargate SG-1 is in it’s 10th, final season. I am saddened, as I have been watching this show, and following these characters for a long time. I’ve even (partially, there are obviously more factors involved, but it was a catalyst, methinks) developed friendships through this show. But I think it is time. A good run, good shows, cast, etc. At the end of the day, it is just a tv show. Besides, we still have Stargate Atlantis, and an upcoming game, Stargate Worlds.
You know, with all these new shows and developments, I might get cable tv again. Jonah, can I just get one channel (Sci-Fi) for a few bucks a month? Please?
Awww, who am I kidding? Fuck TV, all I need is this chair, this thermos, and a certain little networking protocol. If you haven’t heard, the word is bittorrent. Bitch.
repo man!
Damn I was wrong – but I think its in that too. Harry Dean sez it I swear…
I guessed “The Jerk”, only because of your last paragraph. I thought perhaps you were alluding to the movie in question.
yaaaay! i’ve seen that movie so many times! And who can forget David Duchovny in it. Bwahahah!
Yeah, the metal-head buddies who valet call him “Metallica-breath”.
