5 Days

My company gives us 5 “Personal Days” and 10 Vacation Days a year.
I have taken 0 vacation days so far, and few personal days.

This was just brought up to me. Unfortunately, our policy is that if I don’t take my vacation days, I don’t get an extra paycheck or anything.
But, due to the events of the past year, they have made me an offer.
An offer I can’t refuse.

I will take 5 vacation days, and they will give me the equivalent pay of the other 5.
And, thanks to timing, here is my work schedule for the end of December:

21 – 22: Vacation
23 – 26: X-mas (Office closed) + weekend
27 – 29: Vacation
30,31,1: New Year’s (Office closed) + weekend

That’s 12 consecutive days off using 5 vacation days. Sweet.
They even stressed the fact that I should go somewhere warm(er), or go in the woods. Just unplug.
Fuck that, I’m staying here. They also suggested that I spend the other 5 days’ pay on getting drunk.
